Clinical Consultation & Supervision

Thoughtful Support for Mental Health Professionals

Clinical work can be rewarding, but it can also be complex. Some cases leave you with questions about treatment direction, boundaries, clinical decision-making, or how to best support a client whose circumstances are particularly challenging.

Consultation and supervision can provide a space to step outside of the immediate demands of a case, consider different perspectives, and think more intentionally about your clinical work.

I offer individual consultation and supervision for mental health professionals interested in discussing clinical concerns, strengthening their practice, and continuing to develop their clinical judgment.

Clinical Consultation

Individual consultation provides an opportunity to discuss a specific case, clinical question, treatment approach, or professional concern.

Consultation may be useful when you are looking for another perspective or working through a situation that feels particularly complex.

Topics may include:

  • Case conceptualization

  • Treatment planning

  • Trauma-informed care

  • Complex trauma presentations

  • Anxiety and emotional regulation

  • Domestic violence and relationship abuse

  • Narcissistic abuse and difficult relationship dynamics

  • Family and co-parenting concerns

  • Therapeutic boundaries

  • Transference and countertransference

  • Challenging therapeutic dynamics

  • Clinical decision-making

  • Navigating complex relational situations

  • EMDR- and FLASH-informed clinical questions

Consultation is collaborative and focused on helping you think through the clinical situation rather than providing a predetermined answer. Together, we can explore the information available, consider different perspectives, and identify potential approaches that are consistent with your client's needs and your professional responsibilities.

Clinical Supervision

Supervision provides an opportunity to develop clinical skills, strengthen professional judgment, and thoughtfully examine your work with clients.

My supervision approach is collaborative, supportive, and direct. I believe clinicians benefit from having a space where they can ask questions openly, discuss uncertainty, receive constructive feedback, and explore the clinical reasoning behind their decisions.

Supervision may include discussion of:

  • Assessment and case conceptualization

  • Treatment planning and clinical interventions

  • Trauma-informed practice

  • Therapeutic boundaries

  • Ethical considerations

  • Documentation and clinical decision-making

  • Therapeutic relationship and dynamics

  • Countertransference and clinician responses

  • Managing challenging cases

  • Developing clinical confidence

  • Professional identity and growth

The goal is not simply to determine whether a particular intervention was "right" or "wrong." Supervision can help you develop the ability to think critically about your clinical decisions, understand your clients more fully, and approach complex situations with greater confidence and intention.

Trauma-Informed Clinical Consultation

My clinical training includes work with trauma, EMDR, FLASH, and narcissistic abuse and domestic violence survivorship. These areas may inform consultation when they are relevant to the case or clinical question being discussed.

Consultation may be particularly helpful when working with clients whose experiences involve:

Trauma and complex trauma
Understanding how past experiences may affect current emotional responses, relationships, beliefs, and behaviors.

Domestic violence and relationship abuse
Considering safety, relational dynamics, boundaries, and the unique challenges that may arise when supporting survivors.

Narcissistic abuse and difficult relationship dynamics
Exploring patterns of control, manipulation, boundary difficulties, and the effects of prolonged relational stress.

Trauma-focused treatment
Thinking through whether and when trauma-focused approaches may be appropriate and how to support clients before, during, and after trauma processing.

EMDR & FLASH Consultation

For clinicians incorporating or learning about trauma-focused approaches, consultation can provide an opportunity to discuss clinical questions related to EMDR- and FLASH-informed work.

Consultation may include discussion of case conceptualization, preparation, treatment planning, client readiness, clinical considerations, and challenges that arise during treatment.

Consultation does not replace formal training, certification, or consultation requirements associated with a particular modality. It is intended to provide an additional opportunity for clinical discussion and perspective.

My Approach to Supervision

I believe good supervision should provide both support and thoughtful challenge.

You should have room to bring uncertainty, mistakes, difficult cases, and questions without feeling that you need to have everything figured out before the conversation begins. At the same time, supervision should encourage accountability, ethical practice, continued learning, and careful consideration of the impact our clinical decisions can have on clients.

My goal is to help clinicians develop their own clinical voice and judgment rather than simply teaching them what I would do in a particular situation.

Who May Benefit From Consultation or Supervision?

Consultation or supervision may be appropriate for mental health professionals who:

  • Want another perspective on a challenging case

  • Work with trauma or complex relational dynamics

  • Are developing confidence in their clinical decision-making

  • Want to strengthen their case conceptualization skills

  • Are navigating difficult therapeutic relationships

  • Have questions about boundaries or clinical dynamics

  • Want to thoughtfully integrate trauma-informed approaches into their work

  • Are seeking ongoing professional growth

A Space to Think, Question, and Grow

Clinical work does not always come with clear answers. Having another clinician to talk through the work with can help you slow down, consider the larger picture, and approach difficult situations with greater clarity.

Whether you are seeking consultation around a particular case or ongoing supervision, the goal is to create a professional space where you can think critically, ask questions, receive feedback, and continue developing as a clinician.

Thoughtful clinical work requires thoughtful reflection. You don't have to navigate the complex parts alone.
